My approach to teaching utilizes familiar subjects and themes with creative uses of tools and materials, to foster an artistic sense of spontaneity. Studies include a fundamental approach to techniques and concepts; exploration of black and white graphics; color mixing and contrasts; sensitivity to values, nuances and textures; methods of observation; transformation of reality by the imagination; and exploration of different techniques, media and materials. Additional teaching emphasis is placed on laws of representation; conceptualization; composition and framing skills; geometry; light and shadow; rendering perspective and depth of field; and facial and physical proportions. Tuition (all materials included): Group Classes for Children and Teenagers - $25 per class monthly. Limited makeup lessons are available for students paying quarterly tuition. Private Lessons (1.5 hr.) - $95 for individual lessons.
